I was lucky enough to get sent a new Rubbermaid Reveal Mop to try out. A mop. Yes folks exciting stuff. Well. When it arrived and I got it out, it looked very snazzy and I actually could not wait to give it a try. Normally it annoys me no end how many times I my boys spill milk, yoghurt or numerous other things on the floor. Once the mop had arrived I could not wait for some spillage so I could give it a try.
I have ceramic tiled floors and I usually use my steam mop to do my mopping. But that isn’t really handy for spills. The steam mop is good for cleaning the floors, not mopping up spills.
Sooo my Tiniest Man finally spilled some yoghurt. Yay! The mop comes with bottle that you fill with hot water, vinegar, or whatever cleaning liquid you normally use. So I put hot water and vinegar in mine.
The mop also has a microfibre cloth. So you pull the trigger, near the handle, it sprays your cleaning solution on the floor, then you push the mop. It is really too too easy! Then you just pull the cloth off the bottom, toss it in the wash and its good to go for next time.
Like all things, there are are good points and bad points about it. I love the fact that it is easy to use. It really is simple to pop water in the bottle and push and clean. Simple.
I also like that you can use whatever you like in the bottle. I tried cold water from the tap the other day and it worked wonderfully.
However if you don’t use all the water/cleaning solution in the bottle then you need to take it off. It does spill a little. Unless I am doing something wrong which is quite possible. The floor also does need to be swept or vacuumed before using. No biggie though. Still great for spills.
In short – I love it. I love the fact I have a simple way to clean the floors, including spillages. I actually like cleaning the floors now. I know strange right?! Thanks so much Rubbermaid for a great mop!

Ohhhhh – an eco spray n mop – I love the idea I can choose the cleaner for the job but still have one hand free to control the toddler whilst I de-spill the floor!

My bathroom floor attracts dirt – light tiles imperfectly laid; dust and dirt tracked in from outdoors [we live in bush isolation] adds to the problem; and a semi-feral kitten that too often does its business in the bathroom – must recognise the smell – rather than litter try……. all combine to provide challenges for any mop, and a real test for this steam mop !!!!!! Hope I manage to win it !!!!!!
Mop is such a dirty word…..it means housework, at least this one should make cleaning a little easier

I am the Mum of three kids: one that plays soccer in the dirt, one that is a tomboy, and the youngest who is a fan of construction toys, dirt, and playing “Pro Hart” with his food. So, if I don’t win this mop I’ll head off to Bunnings and buy one to trial on our wooden floors. If it can clean up after MY kids it should get ‘product of the year’….make that ‘of the century’!!

Good on Rubbermaid for a great idea. I absolutely hate filling the bucket and dragging out my heavy, not so effective, old mop to give my abused kitchen floor (abused because I’m a klutz and drop everything), yet another mop over (2 or 3 times a week).
Oh how do I need a new mop, sadly my old one is definately on its way out, I am so sick of screwing those little things back in. Love the idea of being able to pop whatever cleaning fluid you want in the bottle. My floors are crying out for a good clean.

I kinda hate how excited I am at the thought of a new mop….
Simple fact is, when you spend hours and hours every week with your mop is easy to get thrilled at the thought of a shiny new one. Yoghurt is my nemesis as well, I serve it up, wander off, silence reigns, and I return to yoghurt covered hair, table and floor. Shame I can’t mop the wee beasties as well but my husband is against it. Spoilsport.

I old mop has seen better day, this one looks great and great for e as I am always spilling things, so many features, as you can add your liquid to it, no more falling over the bucket of water for just a little spill, it would be a breeze to use

I have tried other brands but the rubber inside perished when I used eucalyptus and water to spray on wooden floors. Rubbermaid reveal mop sounds like it will be perfect for me.

I have already bought one, but my daughter needs one and she keeps trying to take mine home with her. It’s brilliant.
No end of messes with two little misses. Miss 3 enjoys getting her own meals (only this morning did we have about 5 weetbix crushed into her bowl!). Miss 9 months likes to try to feed herself (Battle Royale trying to stop that fully laden spoon being flung across the room). As mummy normally loses said battles a mop would be greatly appreciated and put to good use.

I would Luvvvvvvv one. My 1 year old and 3 year old sons just love to spill juice and soggy biscuits all over the floor. You can’t just sweep this away, it has to be mopped and i am mopping about 50+ times a day, (soooo over it). It would be nice to make this event a bit easier.

I cant tell you how many times a day i am on my hands and knees with a cloth mopping up these types of spills my 2 year old leaves under the dining room table. I really hate my current mop! I have tiled floors with lots of little grooves, which my mop doesn’t clean (to my standards anyway!), so I usually end up scrubbing the floor with a toothbrush!!!! Anything that would assist me with cleaning would be appreciated.
