Well new to me anywhere, I am unsure exactly how long these have been around as I never really look for them. I have always believed them to have wheat in them.
Cruising the supermarket (Coles) the other day and my hubby spotted some Bean Supreme Roasted Garlic Vegetarian Sausages in the dairy case. I didn’t quite believe him when he said they were gluten free so check them out and they were. Since they were also marked down from $7 odd to $1.20 I knew I had to get them to try them.
I chucked them in the freezer when I got home and cooked them the following week. I just pan fried them with a tiny amount of olive oil spray and served them up with mashed potato and steamed vegetables.
They tasted… not too bad. I was expecting to hate them for some reason and look like a sausage when cooked up so it felt strange on one hand eating them.
The next day I popped them in a pasta sauce and had them on pasta. They are filling so nice and full of protein which is important. I took a photo of the ingredients and nutrition panel. Hopefully you can see them if you want to.
I think I would buy them again, at the marked down price. I have been diagnosed as a coeliac for coming up to 10 years and I still have trouble paying $8+ for a meal item just for me.
Found any good new gluten free products recently?and as a side note: I was not asked or paid to talk about this product.
