About

Welcome to Nellbe’s Gluten Free Kitchen – thanks for popping by.

My name is Janelle and I am a Stay At Home Mum to 2 gorgeous boys. My youngest is 22 months and my eldest is 6 years old. We live in Australia.

My blog is about random stuff of my life, being a mum, a wife and a coeliac. I enjoy cooking – mainly gluten free, saving money, reading blogs and books and organising.

Just the kind of stuff you would sit around a kitchen table and chat with friends about.

I am a PR friendly blog and offer advertising so feel free to contact me if you think we can help each other.

      Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the comment. Good on you for catering for your daughters friend. The gluten free chips are the original Smiths Chips in the blue packet and the corn chips are plain Doritos in the green packet, you can get these at all supermarkets in the chip aisle. If you look in the health food section of the supermarket, there should be Healtheries brand rice wheels and tubes, they are like cheezels. The food labels should have wheat and gluten free on them. If not, they will say wheat or gluten somewhere in the ingredients so don’t get these ones. If you go to Woollies, they have gluten free lollies in the lolly aisle in light green packets, Select brand.

I hope this helps, I will have to do a more in depth post about this as well I think. Thanks for the inspiration.

Please ask me any more questions, I am more than happy to help

  3. Hi Janelle, I’m so excited to have found your blog! My son has just been dx with Autism, and we are trialing a gluten, dairy, wheat and yeast free diet for him. It’s working wonders and I am gobsmacked at the difference nutrition is making. The down side is 1) I’m struggling to find interesting foods and feel like we eat the same thing over and over and 2) it’s so gosh darn expensive to eat like this!
I read your comment above “… cooking – mainly gluten free, saving money…”
I must admit I never thought I’d see the day ‘gluten free’ and ‘saving money’ were mentioned that close together; our grocery bill has jumped $50 a week since we started. I’m gonna have a good look around at your tips and recipes, thank you so much for sharing theses! xx

    Hi Janelle,

I made the gluten free lemon cake on Sunday for my mum who has too many intolerances to mention. It was my first attempt at such a thing and it turned out great. She absolutely loved it!

Since then I have had a peak at the site and can’t wait to make her more GF treats as her diet is otherwise very basic.

    Thanks again.
    Kind regards
    Desii
