Kelloggs Mums
Last Thursday I have the privilege of meeting some very lovely people from Kellogg’s, thanks to Brand Meets Blog. Yes Kellogg’s, those guys that make the cereal. None of which is gluten free. So why are they talking to me?
Being a gluten free blog, I often get passed over for many things as companies think that as a coeliac I have no interest in food or products that isn’t. These people forget that I am one person, I am a mum to 2 gorgeous boys that have no allergies or intolerances along with my wonderful husband. Besides that I have many many readers that are not gluten free either.
Thankfully Brand Meets Blog and Kellogg’s recognise this fact and invited me and my youngest son along to a yummy brunch (which was gluten free!) with some other lovely blogger’s and we chatted all manner of things pertaining to the madness of breakfast time along with exactly how much sugar is in what cereal. It was a great discussion and we found out many things that surprised us.
Ok, yes I bought up the fact that Kellogg’s in the States now have Gluten Free Rice Krispies and can we have them too please? Well it is not an easy task to undertake, to ensure products are manufactured gluten free (as well as dairy, nut free) and I am aware of that and appreciate that fact.
Kelloggs surprised us with our very own box of cornflakes, with our blog name on them. So yes there is one box of ‘gluten free’ Kelloggs cornflakes in Australia! Unfortunately it is in name only and the box is empty.
Thanks again lovely folk from Kelloggs and Louisa from Brand Meets Blog. I appreciate you catering for me and as well as having activities for the little ones.
Would you buy Kellogg’s Gluten Free cereal if they made it?
Great photos as always from Little Red Photography

Bloggers Brunch with Kids Business and Weight Watchers
As I mentioned previously, I was lucky enough to be invited back to the 2nd Bloggers Brunch from Kids Business as sponsored by Weight Watchers. (you can read about my experience from the 1st Blogger’s Brunch here)
I really enjoyed the speakers, they were each motivational and informative in their own way. What resonated with me was that I could identify with each of them in a different way, not just that we were all mums. I found myself thinking of ways I can improve my mindset and I thank each of them for that.
The speakers were:
As well as listening to fabulous speakers and meeting some even more fabulous bloggers in real life, the aim of the Bloggers Brunch is to bring companies and blogger’s together.
Kids Business had organised some great companies to be there and each of them were so happy and willing to chat to us bloggers and let us know what great products they had.
The companies involved were:
Weight Watchers– they sponsored the event as well as giving each blogger a six month online membership to Weight Watchers. I am actually not allowed to ‘diet’ or try to lose weight at the moment due to my health issues but if I was able then Weight Watchers is the way to go for us coeliac’s.
Homedics– they provide massage chairs there as well as the door prizes. They also offered each bloggers a Neck and Shoulder massasger. When I chatted to them I was busy telling them I don’t like massages. (am I the only crazy one) But then I remembered that my hubby loves them plus my readers might like to know how it goes. Hubby was very excited that I bought one home so he can give it ago. He hasn’t as yet but he is looking forward to trying it out.
Aunty Rozzy– is a company that helps mums and dads by showing them fun ways that you can get your children to like eating/trying vegetables and fruits. Despite me always cooking the same meal for everyone (I am not a chef running a restaurant!) and us eating dinner every night at the same time and has a family, my eldest flat out refused to eat vegies and fruit. And hubby and I love them so it isn’t as if he has bad vibes about them. My 2nd second who is almost 2 is starting to refuse vegetables as well. He loves fruit so thats one thing. I am going to give the Aunty Rozzy books and cds a go and shall let you know how we get on.
Protect a Bed– I knew this was a company that loved bloggers as I had seen giveaways on other blogs of their products before. As my 2nd son was going into a big boy bed soon, they gave me a single fitted mattress protecter. Watch for a review and a giveaway from me for these guys soon!
Blackmores– Due to my recent health issues, I knew I needed to talk to these guys. I had a good chat to the naturopath there about my concerns and she steered me in the direction of the right vitamins to use for me and my children. As I have just started taking them, watch for a full review to see how I go in a little while.
Million Dollar Woman– I needed this company 4 months ago! I had just started seeing their ads on tv when I was already ill. Apparently to be eligible to apply for the insurance, it cannot be a pre-existing condition so that ruled me out. Plus I am getting better but I really could have used something like this 4 months. Of course I would have needed the forethought to have taken out the coverage but on hindsight, it really would have been a blessing and you just never know when you will need it. I love that they are thinking of the Stay at Home Mum and understanding what support we would need if we get ill. Thanks Million Dollar Woman for the 6 month magazine subscription also.
Garnier– I have used and loved their products before so I knew I had to talk to these guys. They were right down the back and a little hard to get to but worth it in the end. I received some bottles of their new Body Intensive 7 days Hydrating Lotion and 2 Anti-dark Circles Roll-ons. I have given these both a go and I do love them. So easy to apply. The lotions all smell lovely.
And that’s a wrap from me! Thanks again Kids Business for a great event.

Aussie Blogger’s Conference is close!
The blogsphere and twitter are all abuzz with the Aussie Bloggers Conference. I am flying up tomorrow with Mumstrosity for it on Saturday. It is all very exciting!
Not only do I get to chat to others about blogging and writing and tweeting but I also get some time all to myself. No nappies to change, no food to clean off the floor, no school pick up and maybe I will get to drink a hot cup of coffee!
I know – exciting times.
And here is the plug to my fantastic sponsors. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be going anywhere or drinking any hot beverages
- Little Billies – fabbo charts to help make life at home easier
- Food for Health – fantastic health food company that has the yummiest gluten free muesli
- OTi Organiser – the best ever organiser you could ever want
- Baby Concepts - natural baby products
Seriously – how lucky am I?

Grateful for having a roof over our head…
This week I am grateful for having a roof over our head.
Sadly for the residents of Far North Queensland, many of them do not thanks to Cyclone Yasi.
Poor Queensland, they have not had much luck. Not forgetting the rest of Australia who in some way has felt the affects of flood, fire and cyclone. Mother Nature what has Australia done to you?
Last night, here in Melbourne we felt some affects of the tail of Cyclone Yasi. Our neighbourhood got alot of rain and our garage (which is under the roofline) was flooded twice, we lost power all night and got a few wet spots on our ceiling. Several of our neighbours also had similar problems.
Although, nothing in comparasion to our Northern neighbours. So I do have alot to be grateful.

Hope you are having a good weekend where you are.

Aussie Wordless Wednesday – Cino Time
Is there nothing better then kicking back downing a bubba cino? Shopping is soooo exhausting.
As a side note: before I was mum I never knew that baby cino’s were just froth and milk. I thought they were actually proper coffee cino’s and was wondering why all these mothers were giving their baby’s coffee?!

To have a little escape from what’s happening and a bit of a cheer up, head to Candy’s Family blog for a read of some fantastic posts from your favourite bloggers.
Thanks to Candy for hosting and enjoy the posts everyone!

Thinking of Lori
How are you? Yeah? Good. Me? I am well too thanks. However I am sorry to say that one of our own is not. Fabulous Lori from Random Ramblings of a SAHM is doing it tough. She posted out of the blue yesterday that her husband Tony is in hospital fighting for his life. They have 2 little ones and to say they need help is an understatement.
Lori asked for our prayers. Her great friends are trying to do more. Please my wonderful readers if you can spare a $ or 2 please pop over to Emma’s blog and make a donation. This will help Lori and her family keep ticking over while they try to get through this horrible time. Thank you.
Wanderlust is doing a special Flog Your Blog (which is usually Lori’s gig) today in support of Lori. Feel free to do your own post and linky up.
Your AMB, blog and twitter friends love you Lori. We have your back. Keep safe and sending you all the hugs and love I can muster.
Updated: Sadly, 10th Jan Lori’s husband left this earth. So sorry Lori. You will always be in my thoughts. Please let me know if I can help you with anything. xx

Mummy Breaks
You would have to be living under a rock not to know that Oprah is coming to Australia. I know, amazing right? I looked forward to registering and getting some tickets. I organised with my buddy to come with me and was so excited to be having a little time off. Just a night to perhaps stay in a hotel, sleep in a bed all to myself and not lose the blankets. Go to the bathroom by myself, have a hot cup of coffee. I was looking forward to having a little mummy break. Sharing that with a girlfriend I have known for 20 odd years, we could finally have a kid free conversation – just the 2 of us. (its been years!)
My friend and I have watched and talked Oprah for years and years. I have always loved her show and everything she has done for the world. We were both excited she was coming here.
Needless to say, along with 69,000 other people, we missed out. We are so disappointed not to be in her audience. Its all I have ever wanted to do for as long as I have watched her show, is to be in her audience.Skipping over to the States has not been something I have been able to do. As this is her last season, it looks like I am not going to be able to see her live ever.
I am equally disappointed that I am not getting to have my mummy break. I think its something we as mothers all need at some point. I was going to move heaven and earth to be able to get to Sydney to see Oprah.
So since I am not going, why I can’t I have a mummy break anyway? Don’t I still deserve it?
